If you are thinking about visiting Daylesford it is a haven of organic, slow food & great wine and is just over an hours drive from Melbourne.
But of course it isn't called spa country for no good reason! There were day spas on almost every corner ! We chose to visit to Hepburn Springs Bathouse which houses a collection of communal warmed mineral water pools with a range of hydrotherapies including spa and relaxation pools, spa couches, aroma steam room and salt therapy pool. This 1895 site has been welcoming guests for a long long time but it has very recently undergone a $13 million dollar makeover and it was pure BLISS!
In Daylesford there are so many gorgeous little cottages available for holiday rentals. We chose Zahalka House and it was so darn cute!! It is filled with great books, magazines, DVDs and it even has a fully loaded Ipod & dock.
Most of our days were selfishly lazy and we sampled local wines, beers and I couldn't resist making a few home cooked goodies in the fully stocked, gourmet kitchen. On a chilly winters day there's nothing quite like a freshly baked chicken, leek and pancetta pie - made with local organic produce of course.
Most of our days ended with a soak in the ultra deep Japanese soaker tub before reclining to a cosy nights sleep in vintage Parisian linen. .. we really didn't want to leave Zahalka!

An impressive share! I've just forwarded this onto a friend who had been doing a little homework on this. And he in fact ordered me breakfast simply because I found it for him... lol. So let me reword this.... Thanks for the meal!! But yeah, thanx for spending the time to talk about this subject here on your site.
